Life! | Vida!
After a long time guessing what would be the title for my first publication here on this blog, nothing makes more sense than "Life". And you wonder, what does that have to do with street photography? Well, everything! For me Street Photography only makes sense if includes the human condition, if it portray the instantaneous of the action, the emotion that i see.
Muito pensei sobre o tema da primeira publicação neste espaço e nada melhor que este, "Vida"! E o que é que isso tem a ver com Fotografia de Rua? Bem, tem tudo. Para mim, Fotografia de rua só faz sentido se nela incluir a condição humana, se nela retratar o instantâneo da acção, a emoção que presencio, a composição que vejo.
The street is like a huge stage where lots of plays are taking place in which the protagonists jump from scene to scene, creating amazing scenarios, unique moments, expressions uneven, genuine. The big difference here is that there is no script to follow, and it is this spontaneity that gives us and makes us live emotions, these feelings that nourish the soul, which give us life.
A rua é como um enorme palco onde se desenrolam imensas peças em que os seus protagonistas saltam de cena em cena, criando cenários incríveis, momentos únicos, expressões ímpares, genuínas. A grande diferença é que aqui não há um guião para seguir, e é essa espontaneidade que nos oferece e nos faz viver emoções, sentimentos esses que nos alimentam a alma, que nos dão vida.
After a day or a few hours shooting on the street i probably will come home with empty hands, without a single good photo, but i bring plenty of stories to remember, bring stories depicting the life, the human condition and that makes me think tomorrow I have to go back because there are other actors and the emotions they awaken will perhaps be others. If today on the same set i saw happiness tomorrow it may be sadness.
Depois de um dia ou de umas horas a fotografar na rua até posso chegar a casa e não ter uma fotografia que goste, mas trago imensas histórias para recordar, trago histórias que retratam a vida, a condição humana e que me fazem pensar que amanhã tenho que lá voltar porque os actores serão outros e as emoções que despertarão serão talvez outras. Se hoje o que vi no mesmo cenário foi alegria amanhã pode ser tristeza.
But these is the way i see the Street, unique for me and different for everyone.
Mas isto é a minha forma de ver a Rua, única para mim e diferente para todos.
